How to Learn Your Soul Path or Life Purpose
I'm one of those people who likes to keep reading, and watching videos to grab as much data and knowledge about a subject as possible.
One thing I have felt for a while is being unsatisfied. Not in my personal life, more in my career. My day job is a great career but is not soul satisfying. I feel like I was put here to create something. But how to find my soul purpose?
On my journey for inner truth and trusting myself, I've been told if something flows and is easy that is your purpose or your gift.
I'm still trying to work out what that means for a career or business idea but at least I have a direction.
If you are looking for your soul path or purpose one tip is to think about what you are good at or what is easy for you and you enjoy it.
If you are unsure think about compliments you have received? What were you doing? Are you good at teaching something? Technology? Public speaking? Writing? Fashion sense? What are you know for?
Another great tell is what are you passionate about. What gets your juices flowing?
I guess if I was to identify something I was good at, writing and learning new things would be the obvious ones. Those are the two things that flow easily for me.
The other way you can tell something is your life purpose is if you are passionate about it. Whatever your soul purpose is, it should bring you joy. So much enjoyment you wake up excited to do it.
Thinking about passion narrows my choice down to writing. I have memories of when I was a kid, choosing to write instead of going outside to play...I know lamo...but I loved to write.
Somewhere between now and then my dreams were crushed with family and friends telling me things like, writers don't make money, art is just a hobby, you need to find a serious career.
As the years have gone by, with kids, work and life I have written less and less.
A mentor recently recommended I read the Artist Way. She recognized the creator inside of me. Even if I didn't.
After only reading a few pages of the book her story spoke to me. Her story is my story. The passion is still there. It's just been asleep all these years.
So as I take the plunge, I am taking action and starting to write again. I have started this blog to document my journey to find inner trust with myself. And I am trusting my passion and trying to go with the flow.
